Definition Help when unexpected crises occur at home - such as fire or flood. How we have helpedWe helped Mr G Mr G, a postman, had a shock when he returned from holiday with his family to discover that his house had been burgled. As well as having personal items stolen the thieves had damaged the fabric of the house along with items of furniture. His insurance did not fully cover the total cost of the damage so the Fund stepped in quickly with financial aid to help the family during this traumatic and stressful period. We helped Mrs M Mrs M, whose husband died in service, was flooded out of her sheltered accommodation earlier this year. She moved in with her youngest son whilst the housing association refurbished her property. However, her furniture and carpets were ruined and her insurance did not fully cover the costs. We were able to contribute to the cost of the replacement items and she has now moved back home.
